Bernie Cohen

We are sorry to hear of the death of Bernie Cohen, husband of Gloria, who passed away on 8-24-11 at the age of 94. The ocomplete obituary is in the Gloucester Daily Times The services will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at Temple Avahat Achim, 86 Middle St., Gloucester with Burial at Mount Jacob Cemetery in West Gloucester. The family will sit Shiva at Bernie and Gloria's home in Brierneck. Bernie was a long term member of the BNA. Our condolences go to Gloria and to the entire family

Penn Michelini

We learned that Penn Michelini, long time former resident of Salt Island Rd., passed away Thursday, March 24.. Penn will be forever remembered for his years of leading the games on Beach Day in his crisp, authoritative manner. Our condolences go to his wife, Kay, and the family.

A wake will be held at Fournier Hall Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, North Woodstock, NH (745-3925) on Sunday, March 27 from 4 to 8 pm. The interment will be held at Forest Glen Cemetery, North Main Street, Reading, MA 01867 on Tuesday, March 29 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Penn's name to: North Country Home Health & Hospice Agency, 536 Cottage Street, Littleton, NH 03561

Bob Kramich: Friend &Neighbor...

Fought the fight but unfortunately succumbed on Oct 6th. Trajic news and a loss for all of us, Im so sorry to have to report it here.

His body will lie in state at Our Lady of Assumption Church Parish, Salem St. Lynnfield. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, Lynnfield

Marsh Conservation Group

Denton Crews, an Old Nugent Farm resident, is forming a group to conserve the marsh on Witham and Thatcher, planned for condos, and to extend conservation efforts to the local marshes and beach. He has several people from The Nugent Farms Development and from Starknaught Heights interested and has extended and invitation to interested parties in the Brierneck neighborhood as well He has put together a very comprehensive description of the history and present status of the situation which is available for down load as a PDF. Individuals interested in helping or joining the effort will want to see the last page of his document where he proposes a possible organizational framework for the group. An organizational meeting has been planned at the home of Denton Crews, 45 Old Nugent Farm Rd, July 8 @ 7 PM.
